RFA Talk > Alison's "Life at the Resort - (the Last Resort)"

Just wiping tears away from reading Alison's post entitled "Life at the Resort" on the Testimony page, seeing myself between those lines. I do believe I might see a little bit of encouragement in my life from those words. I've been overweight ALL of my life....all 62 years of it...and most of it miserable at the reflection of my body image in the mirror and thoughts of self loathing at my inability to control my sugar addiction. I enrolled (October of 2016) in a surgical weight loss group, and have chickened out during the 6th month of my 6-month pre-surgery program (in March of 2017). I just know that I will not be able to continue staying free of the foods I must not eat, thus gaining weight back that would have been lost. Feeling defeated once again, and admitting that I DO have a sugar addiction, I decided to google "professional help with sugar addiction", and continued the links to this RFA site. Oh glory! Can it be? Is this MY "Last Resort"? I have found a local meeting site fairly close to me. This truly is my last resort. I'm done.

Kathy--

Good for you--welcome! You are fortunate to have a close-by meeting.. You might check out the RFA phone meetings, too. For instance, our Atlanta face-to-face meeting is 4:30 PM Saturdays EDT and folks call in to join us. Good recovery on the phone and in the room! Call in at 712-432-0460; PIN 1086405# then 1 to confirm. You press #6 to mute yourself or #6 to unmute and share.
