RFA Talk > need a little boost
Kasey--
What has been helpful to me is when I say "I am in a stressful situation" or "these people are stressing me out" that 1) it's not the situation that is stressful, for me, it is my thoughts about the situation (often in the form of "Things shouldn't be this way, they should be some other way") or 2) it's not other people that are stressing me, it is my thoughts that are stressing me out. And those thoughts can be questioned from a place of honesty, and I get peace. And when I realize that I am stressing me out, then there is my solution--I am the one that needs to change. Or I can continue to suffer--my choice. How can I change? Reaching out to others--getting out of self--is a really practical tool I have been taught to use. Reading spiritual literature as you mentioned also gives me another, more objective and peaceful way to reframe MY interpretation that caused me stress in the first place.
Let me also say, put some non-abstinent food in me or volumize and my ability or interest in doing this is pretty much shot.
Thanks for reaching out. Shows me what recovery looks like.

Hi Everyone,
I'm just having a few challenges today. Nothing major, just in a rather uncomfortable situation at work having been given some responsibility that I don't have the training for. We do a lot of OJT here, but it's not my strong suit and I wish it was over.
It's 11:22 am and I"m thinking "When is lunch going to be here. I'm hungry!"
So I read an online meditation, read Kay's meditation book and am making this post.
I'm grateful for the knowledge that I can do something other than spiral down the tubes, that I have resources and that I have you all.
And for this line from a reading:
"I have infused meaning into your mind and harmony into your heart. Join Me in singing My song. Together we will draw others out of the darkness and into My marvelous Light."
Thank you for drawing me out and for letting me draw you out .
Love,
Kasey
